Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities First Phase of October 2022

  1. The average retail prices of a kilogram of well milled rice increased by PhP 0.01 to PhP 2.93 in nine trading centers during the first phase of October 2022 (01 to 05 October 2022) compared with their price levels in the second phase of September 2022 (15 to 17 September 2022) Its average retail price per kilogram, however, went down by PhP 0.16 in Butuan City and by PhP 0.50 in Cabanatuan City during the period. (Table 1)

  2. Decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of lean meat pork, ranging from PhP 5.00 to PhP 10.00, were noted in six trading centers during the first phase of October 2022. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram inched up by PhP 3.70 in the National Capital Region (NCR) and by PhP 22.44 in Butuan City during the first phase of October 2022. (Table 2)

  3. Six trading centers posted higher retail prices of a kilogram of galunggong by PhP 3.31 to PhP 60.00 during the first phase of October 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram dropped by PhP 5.00 in Legazpi City, by PhP 10.00 in Tuguegarao City,  Tacloban City, and Digos City, and by PhP 25.00 in Butuan City. (Table 3)

  4. Majority of the trading centers reported higher retail prices of vegetables during the first phase of October 2022. (Table 4)

  5. Higher retail prices of a kilogram of red onion, ranging from PhP 20.00 to PhP 70.00, were registered in 10 trading centers during the first phase of October 2022. (Table 5)

  6. The average retail prices of a kilogram of carabao mango rose by PhP 2.50 to PhP 30.50 in six trading centers during the first phase of October 2022, relative to their price levels in the second phase of September 2022. However, its average retail price decreased by PhP 1.12 in NCR, by PhP 5.00 in both Cabanatuan City and Tacloban City, and by PhP 10.00 in Calapan City during the period. (Table 6)

  7. Price increases in the average retail prices of brown and refined sugar were reported in many trading centers during the first phase of October 2022 compared with their price levels in the second phase of September 2022. (Table 7)
