The average retail prices of a kilogram of regular milled rice went down by PhP 0.20 to PhP 3.90 in five trading centers during the first phase of November 2022 (01 to 05 November 2022) compared with their price levels in the second phase of October 2022 (15 to 17 October 2022). Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram inched up by PhP 0.24 in the National Capital Region (NCR) and by PhP 1.00 in Calapan City during the period. (Table 1) Increments in the average retail prices of a kilogram of dressed chicken, ranging from PhP 5.00 to PhP 25.00, were observed in four trading centers during the first phase of November 2022. However, its average retail price per kilogram dropped by PhP 5.99 in NCR and by PhP 10.00 in Batangas City during the first phase of November 2022. (Table 2) Five trading centers posted higher retail prices of a kilogram of tilapia by PhP 0.08 to PhP 30.00 during the first phase of November 2022. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram were lower by PhP 5.00 in Cagayan de Oro City and by PhP 10.00 in Cabanatuan City. (Table 3) Majority of the trading centers reported higher retail prices of vegetables during the first phase of November 2022. (Table 4) Higher retail prices of a kilogram of red onion, ranging from PhP 4.00 to PhP 125.00, were noted in six trading centers during the first phase of November 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price declined by PhP 5.00 in Butuan City, by PhP 9.66 in NCR, by PhP 15.00 in Pagadian City, and by PhP 25.50 in Tacloban City during the period. (Table 5) Price changes in the average retail prices of a kilogram of papaya varied in nine trading centers during the first phase of November 2022. (Table 6) Price increases in the average retail prices of brown and refined sugar were reported in seven trading centers during the first phase of November 2022 compared with their price levels in the second phase of October 2022.
