CREATION OF TECHNICAL COMMITTEES ON STATISTICAL STANDARDS AND CLASSIFICATIONS, AND POPULATION AND HOUSING STATISTICS

WHEREAS, the National Statistical Coordination Board was created as the central coordinating body on statistical matters as provided for in Executive Order No. 121;

WHEREAS, the establishment of statistical standards and classification systems is an important tool in the integration and coordination of statistics;

WHEREAS, population and housing statistics are among the principal bases for determining national social policies in addition to familiar uses in planning and administering programs for economic and social development;

WHEREAS, Technical Committees (TCs) are mechanisms for coordination and provide the proper forum for the exchange of views and expertise to resolve technical issues and problems of data users and producers;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that Technical Committees on (1) Statistical Standards and Classifications, and (2) Population and Housing Statistics be created to provide expertise in the field and to discuss the issues and problems brought before them.
