APPROVAL OF THE CONDUCT OF THE 1990 CENSUS OF AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES
WHEREAS, a census of agriculture and fisheries (CAF) is scheduled to be conducted in 1990;
WHEREAS, an Inter-Agency Committee (IAC) on the 1990 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries was created by NSCB on 30 October 1987 to review the methodology, concepts, tabulation and other related aspects of the census to ensure the production of reliable and useful results;
WHEREAS, the methodology to be used in the conduct of the 1990 CAF needs to be resolved before plans for it can be finalized;
WHEREAS, the said inter-agency committee submitted to the Board, for approval, its recommendation on the methodology to be used;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that:
- the Board approve the recommendation of the IAC to conduct the 1990 Census of Agriculture and Fisheries on a 100% enumeration scheme;
- the National Statistics Office shall be the lead agency, with the Bureau of Agricultural Statistics, Department of Agriculture, as the collaborating agency in the conduct of said census; and
- the budget for this census shall be provided as a “Special Project” of the National Statistics Office.
