BUDGETARY THRUSTS OF THE PHILIPPINE STATISTICAL SYSTEM FOR CALENDAR YEAR (CY) 1993
WHEREAS, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) is mandated to review the budget for statistical activities in the government and to endorse an integrated budget for the Philippine Statistical System;
WHEREAS, there is a need to rationalize the allocation of resources for statistical activities in view of the scarcity of local resources;
WHEREAS, the rationalization of budget allocation should be guided by the thrusts and priorities of the Philippine Statistical System for CY 1993;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that in the preparation and review of the budget for CY 1993, the NSCB Technical Staff, the major statistical agencies such as the NSO, BAS, BLES and SRTC, and all other government agencies engaged in statistical work shall be guided by the following thrusts of the Philippine Statistical System:

Improvement of the timeliness, reliability and dissemination of statistical information;

Development of sub-regional statistics supportive of planning and decision making of the local government units;

Enhancement of the statistical appreciation and capability of the local government units;

Strengthening of the linkages of the government with the private sector, non-government organizations and local government units on statistical matters; and
-
Enhancement of the processing, storage, retrieval and exchange of statistical information through the use of modern information technology.
