CREATION OF AN OVERALL ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR THE PREPARATION OF THE PHILIPPINE STATISTICAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (PSDP), 1993-1998

WHEREAS, the Philippine Statistical Development Program (PSDP) is an instrument for coordinating the statistical activities in the government and providing the direction and priorities of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS) for the medium-term;

WHEREAS, there is a need to update the PSDP, 1990-1992, to consider the emerging requirements of development planners and other decision-makers as well as areas of improvement in the PSS for the next six years;

WHEREAS, in the preparation of the PSDP, the participation of the producers and users of data, the academe, legislative offices and local government units must be encouraged to be able to formulate comprehensive, responsive and attainable programs;

WHEREAS, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) has the mandate to approve the PSDP;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board approve the creation of an Overall Advisory Committee and Sectoral Task Forces to assist the NSCB Technical Staff in the preparation of the PSDP, in accordance with the attached Matrix of Responsibilities.

BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER, that the NSCB Technical Staff be hereby authorized to determine the composition of the Committee and the Task Forces with the end view of ensuring sufficient representation from all sectors.
