ADOPTION OF THE 1988 BENCHMARK INPUT-OUTPUT ACCOUNTS

WHEREAS, the development and utilization of input-output data have provided planners, policy makers and researchers with an effective tool for economic analysis and policy formulation;

WHEREAS, the compilation of the input-output accounts was undertaken jointly by the National Statistical Coordination Board and the National Statistics Office;

WHEREAS, the latest input-output table was compiled in 1985;

WHEREAS, considering the growing demand for more current benchmark tables, the 1988 Input-Output Accounts was compiled showing both industries and commodities disaggregated into 230 sectors;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board approve the release of the 1988 Input-Output Accounts for use by researchers, planners and policy-makers.
