ADOPTION OF THE 1992 PHILIPPINE STANDARD
OCCUPATIONAL CLASSIFICATION

WHEREAS, a standard occupational classification is necessary to ensure uniformity and comparability of occupational statistics compiled in the country;

WHEREAS, the International Labour Organization has revised the International Standard Classification of Occupations (ISCO-88) in 1988;

WHEREAS, the International Standard Classification of Occupations is the basis of the Philippine Standard Occupational Classifications (PSOC);

WHEREAS, there is a need to align the PSOC with the ISCO-1988 to facilitate international communication about occupations;

WHEREAS, the Technical Committee on Statistical Standards and Classifications (TC-SSC) through its Technical Working Group on Occupational Classifications (TWG-OC) has prepared and recommended for adoption the 1992 Philippine Standard Occupational Classification (PSOC) which is aligned with the ISCO-88;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the 1992 PSOC be adopted by all concerned government offices, agencies and instrumentalities and that the NSCB Secretary General be authorized to issue necessary guidelines for the implementation and dissemination of the aforementioned classification.
