APPROVING THE EXTENSION OF MEMBERSHIP OF
PCCI FOR ANOTHER TERM

WHEREAS, Executive Order (EO) No. 121 was issued on 30 January 1987 creating the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) as the policy-making and coordinating body on statistical matters;

WHEREAS, the membership of the NSCB as provided for in Section 4 of said E.O. includes a representative from the private sector who shall be elected by the Board for a term of three (3) years;

WHEREAS, the NSCB in its meeting on 24 September 1987, elected the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) as its private sector representative;

WHEREAS, the membership of the PCCI for the second term will expire in 1993;

WHEREAS, the PCCI as the national umbrella organization of the private sector for trade, commerce and industry in the Philippines, has been actively contributing in the formulation of statistical policies towards meeting the data needs of the private sector, thereby increasing the relevance and effectiveness of the government statistical services;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board approve the recommendation of the NSCB-Technical Staff to extend the membership of the PCCI for another term, beginning January 1994.
