ADOPTION OF THE PHILIPPINE STANDARD
CLASSIFICATION OF EDUCATION

WHEREAS, a standard educational classification is necessary to ensure uniformity and comparability of education statistics compiled in the country;

WHEREAS, the International Classification of Education (ISCED) is the basis of the Philippine Standard Classification of Education (PSCED);

WHEREAS, there is a need to synchronize the PSCED with the ISCED to promote better understanding and cooperation among data users in the international communities;

WHEREAS, the Technical Committee on Statistical Standards and Classifications through the Technical Working Group on Education Classification has prepared and recommended for adoption the Philippine Standard Classification of Education (PSCED);

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the PSCED be adopted by all concerned government offices, agencies and instrumentalities and that the NSCB Secretary General be authorized to issue necessary guidelines for the implementation and dissemination of the aforementioned classification.
