APPROVING AND ENDORSING
THE PHILIPPINE STATISTICAL DEVELOPMENT
PROGRAM (PSDP) 2005-2010
WHEREAS, the Philippine Statistical Development Program (PSDP), a mechanism for setting the directions, strategies and priorities of the Philippine Statistical System (PSS), defines the priority statistical programs and activities of the System for the medium term;
WHEREAS, the PSDP 2005-2010 was designed to provide vital information support to the Medium-Term Philippine Development Plan (MTPDP) 2004-2010 as well as promote efficiency of statistical operations through optimum use of available resources and adoption of cost effective measures;
WHEREAS, the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) as the policy-making and coordinating body on statistical matters, spearheaded the preparation of the PSDP 2005-2010;
WHEREAS, an inter-agency PSDP Steering Committee, with representations from the government, the private sector, and the academe, was created by virtue of NSCB Resolution No. 14, series of 2004, to provide guidance and direction in the formulation of the PSDP 2005-2010;
WHEREAS, sectoral inter-agency committees, task forces and working groups were organized and convened to formulate sectoral statistical development programs and provide indicative budgetary requirements;
WHEREAS, the draft PSDP was presented to the data users and resource persons through a series of consultative meetings taking into consideration their comments and recommendations;
WHEREAS, the funding requirement of PSDP 2005-2010 will be incorporated in the annual Medium-Term Expenditure Plan (MTEP) of the government;
WHEREAS, the PSDP Steering Committee approved the PSDP 2005-2010, through Resolution No. 1, series of 2006, subject to the revisions to be made based on the comments raised during the PSDP presentation to the resource persons, for endorsement to the NSCB Executive Board;
WHEREAS, the final PSDP 2005-2010 has been targeted to be completed by 15 June 2006;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board approve the Philippine Statistical Development Program (PSDP) 2005-2010 as endorsed by the PSDP Steering Committee;
BE IT RESOLVED FURTHER, that the approved PSDP 2005-2010:

be endorsed to the President for issuance of a Proclamation adopting the PSDP 2005-2010;

be monitored and evaluated by the NSCB Technical Staff;
- enjoin the compliance and cooperation of various agencies of government.
