APPROVING THE CREATION OF AN INTER-AGENCY COMMITTEE ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SATELLITE ACCOUNT ON TOURISM

WHEREAS, the NSCB in its continuing drive to improve the country’s economic accounts will be implementing the 1993 System of National Accounts (SNA);

WHEREAS, the compilation of a satellite account on tourism has been identified in the 1993 System of National Accounts (SNA);

WHEREAS, the Department of Tourism and the NSCB agreed to work together to develop said account;

WHEREAS, the cooperation and support of other government and non-government organizations are also necessary in this undertaking;

WHEREAS, inter-agency committees are vital tools for coordination and provide the fora for the exchange of views and expertise;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board approve the creation of an Inter-Agency Committee on the Development of a Satellite Account on Tourism prior to its institutionalization by the NSCB.
