ADOPTION OF DATA ARCHIVING MEASURES BY THE PHILIPPINE STATISTICAL SYSTEM

WHEREAS, the Philippine Statistical System generates regular statistical data which are being monitored by planners, policy-makers and researchers;

WHEREAS, the government spends resources to research, collect and process statistical data for decision-making purposes;

WHEREAS, decision-makers and policy-makers utilize time series data for trend analysis;

WHEREAS, past records are important in tracking the progress of the country and the statistical system;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, that the member agencies of the Philippine Statistical System, adopt data archiving measures to ensure the preservation, systematic storage and retrieval of the statistical data including records on their methodology, concepts and other metadata.
