CMRPI in NCR increased further in August 2021

The CMRPI in NCR continued its upward trend as its annual growth rate moved up further to 1.6 percent in August 2021, from 1.4 percent in July 2021. Its annual change in August 2020 was registered at 1.3 percent. (Tables A and 2)

Relative to their annual growth rates in July 2021, annual upticks were higher in the indices of the following commodity groups during the month:

a. Electrical materials; and masonry materials, both at 1.2 percent;
b. Plumbing materials, 1.0 percent;
c. Tinsmithry materials, 2.5 percent; and
d. Miscellaneous construction materials, 1.8 percent.

Meanwhile, the indices of carpentry materials, and painting materials and related compounds retained their previous month’s annual growth rates of
1.5 percent and 1.1 percent, respectively. (Table 2)
