CMWPI in NCR picks up further during the month
The annual rate of CMWPI in NCR went up by 2.2 percent in March 2021. In the previous month, its annual change was posted at 2.0 percent and in March 2020, 1.6 percent. (Tables A and 2)
The index of fuels and lubricants registered an annual increase of 6.8 percent in March 2021, from an annual decrease of -0.3 percent in February 2021.
Moreover, annual increments were higher in the indices of the following commodity groups during the month:
a. Sand and gravel, 4.0 percent;
b. Hardware, 1.9 percent;
c. Plywood; and Doors, jambs, and steel casement, both at 1.2 percent;
d. G.I. sheet, 0.5 percent;
e. Electrical works, 1.5 percent; and
f. Painting works, 0.9 percent.
On the other hand, annual rate of the index of plumbing fixtures and accessories/waterworks dropped further by -2.2 percent during the month.
The rest of the commodity groups either retained their previous month’s annual growth rates or still recorded zero percent annual growth during the month. (Table 2)
