The major findings of the 2006 FIES will be presented by the National Statistics Office (NSO) in a Data Dissemination Forum on the Final Results of the 2006 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) slated at 2 pm on January 30, 2008 at the NSO Training Room in Sta. Mesa, Manila.

Apart from presentation of the highlights of the Survey, the forum will include discussion on the policy implications of the FIES, as well as a demonstration on the use of the 2006 FIES Public Use File (PUF).

Expected to attend the Forum are regular users of FIES from both private and government agencies. Attendees who would purchase the 2006 FIES PUF on the day of the Forum shall be granted a 10-percent discount.

Conducted every three years, FIES gathers data on Filipino family income and living expenditure levels and patterns; determines sources of income and income distribution, levels of living and spending patterns, and the degree of inequality among families; provides benchmark information to update weights in estimating consumer price index; and provides inputs to the estimation of the country's poverty threshold and incidence.

Mesa, Manila and telephone numbers (02) 714-1715 or 715-6430 and email info@census.gov.ph.
