In July to September 2018, the volume of duck egg production reached 10.82 thousand metric tons. It recovered from a decline of 2.49 percent in 2017 to 6.84 percent growth in 2018. (Table 1)
The top three producing regions accounted for 54.85 percent of the total duck egg produced in the country. Central Luzon was the top duck egg producing region with 4.15 thousand metric tons. It accounted for 38.35 percent share to the total duck egg production. Next top producers were SOCCSKSARGEN with 0.94 thousand metric tons, and CALABARZON with 0.85 thousand metric tons.
As of 1 July 2018, duck laying flock inventory was recorded at 5.83 million birds or 2.45 percent increase compared with the inventory in 2017. Over the three-year reference period, highest growth rate was recorded in 2017 at 5.19 percent and lowest was in 2016 with slight decrease of 0.51 percent.

This Duck Egg Situation Report presents the duck egg industry in terms of volume of production,laying flock inventory and average farmgate price. The report was prepared to serve as ready reference for PSA’s various clients and stakeholders in the agriculture sector. It is released quarterly on January, May, August and November every year.
Concepts and Definitions
Volume of Production refers to the volume of duck egg disposed from locally-raised duck including those duck eggs which were shipped-out to other region/province.
Inventory refers to the actual number of duck present in the farm as of a specific reference date.
Farmgate Price refers to the price received by farmers, livestock and poultry raisers for the sale of their produce at the first point of sale net of freight.
