11-MONTH EXPORT RECEIPTS REACH $32.089 BILLION

Merchandise export receipts from January to November increased by 19.0 percent to $32.089 billion from $26.973 billion a year earlier.

For November alone, total receipts went up by 18.8 percent to $3.073 billion from $2.586 billion last year.

SHARE OF TOP TEN EXPORTS: 3/4 OF TOTAL

Electronics and Components accounted for 51.7 percent of the aggregate export revenue. Valued at $1.589 billion, receipts from the top dollar earner went up by 16.1 percent from $1.369 billion last year.

Input/Output/Peripheral Units remained as the second top earner, reporting aggregate receipts of $276.10 million which was 55.4 percent higher than $177.64 million a year ago.

The third top earner was Articles of Apparel and Clothing Accessoriesvalued at $163.49 million, which was a decline of 14.6 percent from $191.40 million in 1998.

Earnings from Petroleum Products increased by 639.8 percent to $59.85 million from $8.09 million last year.

Revenue from Ignition Wiring Set and Other Wiring Sets Used in Vehicles, Aircraft and Ships grew by 32.3 percent as value of shipments reached $49.12 million from $37.12 million in 1998.

Value of Woodcraft and Furniture went up by 27.7 percent to $49.07 million from $38.43 million a year ago.

Rounding up the list of the top exports for the month of November 1999 were Coconut Oil, $38.00 million; Other Products Manufactured from Materials Imported on Consignment Basis, $34.16 million; Metal Components, $33.91 million; and Cathodes and Sections of Cathodes, of Refined Copper, $30.68 million.

Aggregate payment for the top ten exports for the month amounted to $2.324 billion, or 75.6 percent of the total.

MANUFACTURED GOODS POST 17.4 PERCENT INCREASE

Accounting for 89.4 percent of the total, exports of Manufactured Goodsposted a 17.4 percent increase as sales reached $2.747 billion, up from $2.339 billion a year earlier.

Income from Agro-Based and Other Agro-Based Products combined for $129.79 million or 4.2 percent of the total. Aggregate revenue for these commodity groups grew by 3.6 percent from $125.34 million last year.

EXPORTS TO TAIWAN AND SOUTH KOREA UP BY MORE THAN 100%

Accounting for 27.1 percent of the aggregate receipts for the month, value of exports to the United States placed at $833.75 million dropped by 4.7 percent from $875.15 million last year.

Japan followed with a 14.2 percent share. Valued at $435.44 million, exports to Japan rose by 29.8 percent from $335.48 million a year ago.

Exports to Taiwan, the third biggest market, amounted to $281.41 million and accounted for 9.2 percent of total exports. This was a 102.2 percent increase from $139.11 million last year.

Singapore emerged as the fourth biggest market for the month as shipments of local goods amounted to $245.45 million or 8.0 percent of the total. Receipts increased by 75.5 percent from $139.83 million last year.

Other top markets for the month were Netherlands, $218.16 million;Hongkong, $164.43 million; United Kingdom of Great Britain, $154.08 million; Malaysia, $140.42 million; Germany, $125.04 million; and Republic of Korea, $110.43 million. Exports to the Republic of Korea rose by 177.5 percent from $39.08 million a year ago.

Export receipts from the top ten markets amounted to $2.709 billion or 88.2 percent of the total.
