The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) approves the conduct of the 2024 Quarterly Survey of Philippine Business and Industry (QSPBI) to provide quarterly data for each of the identified leading industry major groups in all sectors of the economy, except those in agriculture, forestry, and fishing sector.
The results of the said activity will be used as inputs in the generation of the Quarterly National Accounts (QNA), construction of the Quarterly Economic Indices (QEI) and for the monetary policy review of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
Major data items to be collected in the survey are as follows:
a. Employment
b. Compensation
c. Value of production (for mining and quarrying and manufacturing sectors only)
d. Total revenue/sales
e. Total inventory of goods
f. Capacity utilization
A total of PhP 17.3 million will be utilized for the said activity, which will cover about 6,000 establishments nationwide. The distribution and collection of the questionnaires/forms will take place on the following dates:

The 2024 QSPBI was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 to:
a. Ensure sound design for data collection
b. Minimize the burden placed upon respondents
c. Effect economy in statistical data collection
d. Eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts
e. Achieve better coordination of government statistical activities
In line with this, the PSA enjoins all the sample establishments to support the 2024 QSPBI by providing truthful information to authorized PSA interviewers who will visit the establishments to distribute and collect the questionnaires. If face to face collection is not possible, electronic copy of the questionnaires can also be submitted through the QSPBI webpage: https://qspbi.psa.gov.ph.
