PhilSys Porac, Pampanga

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Provincial Statistical Office of Pampanga organized onsite registration of Aeta communities in Porac, Pampanga on 18 May 2021 in coordination with the local government unit (LGU). The registration areas in barangays Camias, Villa Maria, Inararo, Diaz, and Sapang Uwak were provided with mobile air-conditioned tents by the LGU of Porac.

The registration aims to bring the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) closer to Aeta communities to provide them a valid proof of identity that can be digitally verified, one of the key benefits of the Philippine Identification (PhilID) card and the PhilSys Number (PSN). The PhilID and PSN can also be used for public and private transactions, such as claiming financial assistance, opening bank accounts, and applying for private and government services.

The mobile registration supports PSA’s goal of registering 50 to 70-million Filipinos by the end of the year, and majority of the adult population by mid of 2022. The registration for PhilSys is free, and the PhilID will likewise be delivered to the successful registrants free of charge.

Meanwhile, successful PhilSys Step 1 online registrants continue to increase, and are anticipated to ramp up with the roll out of online appointment booking for Step 2 Registration.
