The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has cleared the conduct of the Philippine Cultural Statistics Museum Survey of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) through the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS) on July 18, 2017.
The Philippine Cultural Statistics Museum Survey aims to gather baseline information in order to determine the state of museums in the country. The data collected will be collated, processed and analyzed to assess/evaluate the status quo of existing museums in the country. This database will cater not only to the needs of NCCA but as well as stakeholders and other culture and arts sector of our country.
The survey will cover regional and provincial museums under the list of members in the regional association of museums. Major data items to be collected are the following:
- organization’s profile;
- museum collections;
- museum visitorship;
- museum services; and
- museum personnel.
The Philippine Cultural Statistics Museum Survey was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the SSRCS of PSA, a mechanism being implemented by virtue of Rule 28 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA No. 10625 to:
- ensure sound design for data collection;
- minimize the burden placed upon respondents;
- effect economy in statistical data;
- eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection; and,
- achieve better coordination of government statistical activities.
In line with this, the PSA enjoins the business establishments to support the said survey.
