PSA holds PhilSys Pilot Registration of Overseas Filipinos in Singapore

15 December 2022 – SINGAPORE. While the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) registration is currently ongoing in all designated sites throughout the country, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) through the PhilSys Registry Office (PRO) has launched the pilot registration of Overseas Filipinos (OFs) at the Philippine Embassy in Singapore in cooperation with Foreign Service Post.

The registration happened on 18 December 2022 and a total of 330 Filipinos were registered, including employees of the embassy who registered from 15 to 16 December 2022. There were 192 applicants who registered online and 138 were walk-in registrants.

This undertaking is still in line with PSA’s commitment to uphold its mandates in accordance with Republic Act No. 11055, or the PhilSys Act signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on 06 August 2018. Hence, the institution’s goal to establish a single national identification system to provide a valid proof of identity for Filipino citizens and resident aliens of the Philippines is progressively underway its completion and has already begun abroad.
