The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) renewed the clearance for the conduct of the 2020 Quarterly Survey on Philippine Business and Industry (QSPBI).
The QSPBI is one of the designated statistical activities of the PSA which aims to collect data on employment, compensation, value of production, total revenue/sales, total inventory of goods and capacity utilization. Results of the QSPBI will serve as inputs in the estimation of the Quarterly National Accounts (QNA) and Quarterly Economic Indicators (QEI) and for the monetary policy review of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) which measure the performance of the Philippine economy.
The survey questionnaires of the 2020 QSPBI will be distributed to about 6,000 sample establishments nationwide on the following dates:

Pursuant to Executive Order No. 352 (Designation of the Statistical Activities that will Generate Critical Data for Decision-Making of the Government and the Private Sector) and PSA Board Resolution No. 9, series of 2018, the QSPBI results are scheduled to be released 30 days after reference quarter (preliminary; in the form of posting sheets). Final results of the quarterly survey are disseminated 60 days after the reference quarter.
The survey was reviewed and cleared for conduct under the Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS), a mechanism being implemented by the PSA by virtue of Rule 28 of Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act (RA) No. 10625 to:
- ensure sound design for data collection,
- minimize the burden placed upon respondents,
- effect economy in statistical data collection,
- eliminate unnecessary duplication of statistical data collection efforts, and
- achieve better coordination of government statistical activities.
In line with this, the PSA enjoins establishments to respond in the said undertaking.
