The Philippine Statistics Authority announces the special release of the 2022 SDG Pace of Progress based on the 1st Round of Update in the 2022 SDG Watch released on 21 April 2022 in the PSA website through the following link: (https://psa.gov.ph/sdg/Philippines/baselinedata/1%20No%20Poverty).

The SDG pace of progress used the methodology based on the approved PSA Board Resolution No. 05, Series of 2020¹ developed by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).  This includes the Current Status Index, which measures the progress made from the baseline year. It assesses the current state of progress by creating a linkage between the progress made since the baseline year in relation to the progress needed to achieve targets by 2030.  Progress was computed at the goal level using indicators with at least 2 data points, and the 2030 numerical target.

On the other hand, the Anticipated Progress Index also developed by UNESCAP, was utilized to track performance at the target and indicator level by 2030. This presents the expected progress and how likely the targets will be achieved by 2030, based on the pace of progress it has made in the past. This requires the indicators to have at least 3 data points, and the 2030 numerical target.

Per the Resolution, the Time Distance Measure, developed by Prof. Pavle Sicherl, provides information on the number of years the indicator is ahead or behind target based on the latest data available. It requires baseline data, latest data and target data. PSA also generates the pace of progress based on the Time Distance Measure as additional information.
