In view of the celebration of 2018 National Statistics Month this October with the theme, “Exploring Philippine Wonders in Numbers: Statistics Towards Sustainable Tourism Development”, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is now calling for entries to the 8th National Statistics Month Media Awards (NSMMA). This award is given to media practitioners in television and/or radio broadcast including print and online news service affiliated to news organization/company in recognition of their significant contributions in promoting and popularizing official statistical information and in their continuous advocacy in featuring data services from the Philippine Statistical System.

 

Winners for best article in print, online, and best statistical media program in television/or radio will be awarded to the writer/reporter and his/her organization. This year, the PSA will also choose among the media organizations who has featured the most number of statistical news released and shall be named as Ambassador of Statistics. The plaque of appreciation and cash prizes will be given away during the culminating activity of the NSM month.

 

Interested parties/individuals and organizations can submit their entries with accomplished forms downloadable through the PSA website. Each entry should submit a minimum of three articles/features/news cuts published or aired from August 2017 to July 2018.
