CMWPI in NCR retains its annual rate in October 2020
The CMWPI in NCR went up by 0.8 percent in November 2020. It was the same annual rate posted in October 2020, while it was higher at 1.4 percent in November 2019. (Tables A and 2)
Annual mark-ups were higher in the indices of the following commodity groups in November 2020:
a. Hardware, 3.4 percent;
b. Lumber, 3.7 percent;
c. Tileworks, 14.4; and
d. Painting works, 0.7 percent.
Annual increases were, however, slower in the indices of sand and gravel at 0.9 percent; and electrical works, 1.4 percent.
In addition, the indices of the following commodity groups still registered annual declines during the period:
a. Plywood, -0.2 percent;
b. Reinforcing and structural steel, -1.0 percent;
c. Plumbing fixtures and accessories/waterworks, -1.5 percent; and
d. Fuels and lubricants, -11.9 percent.
The same previous month’s annual growth rates were observed in the indices of the rest of the commodity groups. (Table 2)
