Higher annual increment of GRPI in the National Capital Region (NCR) is registered during the month

The annual change of GRPI in NCR picked up by 1.0 percent in November 2019. In the previous month, the annual rate was recorded at 0.7 percent and in November 2018, 3.4 percent. (Table A and Table 2)

Higher annual mark-ups were noted in the indices of the following commodity groups:

• Food, 1.4 percent;
• Beverages and tobacco, 3.2 percent;
• Crude materials, inedible except fuels, 2.9 percent; and
• Machinery and transport equipment, 0.6 percent.

On the other hand, annual increases were slower in the indices of chemicals, including animal and vegetable oils and fats at 0.9 percent; manufactured goods classified chiefly by materials, 1.0 percent; and miscellaneous manufactured articles, 0.8 percent.

The index of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials continued to move downward as its annual rate dropped by 3.6 percent during the month. (Table 2)
