Annual rate of GRPI in NCR remains at 1.2 percent

The GRPI in NCR during the month retained its September 2020 annual rate of 1.2 percent. In October 2019, its annual change was registered at 0.7 percent. (Tables A and 2)

Annual increments were higher in the indices of the following commodity groups during the month:

• Crude materials, inedible except fuels, 1.9 percent;
• Chemicals, including animal and vegetable oils and fats, 0.4 percent; and
• Miscellaneous manufactured articles, 0.6 percent.

On the other hand, annual increases were slower in the indices of food at 2.5 percent; and beverages and tobacco at 5.1 percent during the month. Moreover, annual rate in the index of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials declined further to -8.7 percent in October 2020.

Meanwhile, the same annual growth rates as the previous month were noted in the indices of manufactured goods classified chiefly by materials at 1.1 percent, and machinery and transport equipment at 0.1 percent. (Table 2)
