Palawan Recorded the Highest Increase in the Value of Production in Agriculture and Fisheries at 1.0 Percent in 2020 (At Constant 2018 Prices)

In 2020, Palawan recorded the highest increase in the value of production in agriculture and fisheries at constant 2018 prices among the provinces in MIMAROPA Region at 1.0 percent. Marinduque also posted a 0.3 percent increment. However, reductions in the value of production at constant 2018 prices were recorded in Oriental Mindoro at -8.9 percent, Occidental Mindoro at -6.4 percent, and Romblon at -6.4 percent.(Figure 1)

Palawan accounted for the biggest share in the total value of production in agriculture and fisheries at constant 2018 prices in MIMAROPA Region at 54.6 percent in 2020. By commodity group, the province also had the biggest contribution for crops at 43.1 percent, livestock at 53.8 percent, poultry at 50.9 percent, and fisheries at 83.0 percent.(Tables 2, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and 2.4)

At current prices, Palawan had the highest value of production in agriculture and fisheries among the provinces amounted to PhP 35.72 billion. This was followed by Oriental Mindoro with PhP 12.31 billion and Occidental Mindoro with PhP 11.53 billion. The value of production in Romblon and Marinduque amounted to PhP 3.87 billion and PhP 2.44 billion, respectively. (Table 3)
