The Value of Production in Agriculture and Fisheries in Negros Oriental Recorded the Biggest Growth at 6.1 Percent in 2020 (At Constant 2018 Prices)

Among the provinces in Central Visayas, the value of production in agriculture and fisheries in Negros Oriental recorded the biggest increment at 6.1 percent. Siquijor came next at 4.1 percent and Cebu at 1.7 percent. On the other hand, value of production in Bohol declined by -3.9 percent.(Figure 1)

Cebu had the highest share in the region’s total value of production in agriculture and fisheries at constant 2018 prices with 49.3 percent. Likewise, the province was the major contributor for livestock with 51.0 percent, poultry with 69.3 percent, and fisheries with 58.1 percent. Meanwhile, Negros Oriental was the leading province for crops with 40.7 percent share in the total value of crop production at constant 2018 prices. (Tables 6, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4)

At current prices, the value of production in agriculture and fisheries at PhP 39.84 billion was highest in Cebu. Negros Oriental and Bohol came next amounted to PhP 20.10 billion and PhP 18.09 billion, respectively. Siquijor had the least value of production figured to PhP 1.65 billion.(Table 7)
