Occidental Mindoro Posted the Highest Annual Increase in the Value of Production in Agriculture and Fisheries at 19.4 percent in 2021 (At Constant 2018 Prices)

Across provinces in MIMAROPA Region, Occidental Mindoro posted the highest annual increase in the value of production in agriculture and fisheries at constant 2018 prices of 19.4 percent in 2021. Increases were also noted in Romblon at 7.7 percent and Oriental Mindoro at 6.2 percent. Meanwhile, contractions in the value of production were registered in Palawan at -2.7 percent and Marinduque at -0.1 percent. (Figure 1)

The major contributor to the total value of production in agriculture and fisheries at constant 2018 prices in the region was Palawan at 51.4 percent. The province also had the largest share for crops with 42.5 percent, livestock with 47.5 percent, poultry with 44.7 percent, and fisheries with 79.1 percent.

At current prices, the value of production in agriculture and fisheries in Palawan which amounted to PhP 38.61 billion was the highest among the provinces in MIMAROPA Region in 2021. Came next were Oriental Mindoro at PhP 15.82 billion, Occidental Mindoro at PhP 15.25 billion, and Romblon at PhP 5.10 billion. Marinduque had the least value of production at PhP 3.13 billion.
