Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities Second Phase of October 2021

  1. Decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of regular milled rice, ranging from PhP 0.05 to PhP 1.75, were noted in seven trading centers during the second phase of October 2021 (15 to 17 October 2021), compared with their price levels in the first phase of the month (01 to 05 October 2021). However, its average retail price per kilogram went up by PhP 0.71 in Tacloban City, and by PhP 1.01 in Iloilo City during the period. (Table 1)

Relative to their price levels in the first phase of October 2021, the average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones were lower by PhP 5.10 to PhP 26.50 in six trading centers during the second phase of the month. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram rose by PhP 0.50 in Cagayan de Oro City, by PhP 20.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1), and by PhP 27.63 in Calapan City. (Table 2)
  3. Changes in the average retail prices of a kilogram of bangus between the second phase and first phase of October 2021, ranging from PhP 2.06 to PhP 56.13, were observed in 14 trading centers. (Table 3)
  4. Varied price movements of vegetables were seen in many trading centers during the second phase of October 2021. (Table 4)
  5. Increases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion, ranging from PhP 2.50 to PhP 19.53, were noted in eight trading centers during the period, On the contrary, its average retail price per kilogram dropped by PhP 10.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1), by PhP 14.83 in Butuan City, and by PhP 30.00 in Calapan City.   6. A kilogram of carabao mango in seven trading centers exhibited price changes between the second phase and first phase of October 2021, ranging from PhP 4.73 to PhP 27.34. (Table 6)
  7. Compared with their price levels in the first phase of October 2021, the average retail prices of a kilogram of refined sugar inched up by PhP 0.16 to PhP 3.95 in four trading centers during the second phase of October 2021. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram declined by PhP 0.71 in Legazpi City, and by PhP 1.75 in Calapan City. (Table 7)
