Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities First Phase of January 2022

1. Decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of special rice, ranging from PhP 0.10 to PhP 5.00, were recorded in six trading centers during the first phase of January 2022 (01 to 05 January 2022), from their price levels in the second phase of December 2021 (15 to 17 December 2021). However, its average retail price per kilogram were higher by PhP 0.02 to PhP 1.05 in five trading centers during the period. (Table 1) 2. The average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones picked up by PhP 9.10 to PhP 35.00 in nine trading centers during the first phase of January 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram during the period dropped by PhP 10.00 in Tuguegarao City, by PhP 12.50 in Legazpi City, and by PhP 20.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1). Increments in the average retail prices of a kilogram of bangus between the first phase of January 2022 and the second phase of December 2021, ranging from PhP 4.83 to PhP 30.00, were observed in nine trading centers. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram fell by PhP 2.00 in Legazpi City and Cagayan de Oro City during the first phase of January 2022. (Table 3) 4. Changes in the average retail prices of vegetables were exhibited in many trading centers during the first phase of January 2022. (Table 4) 5. Price hikes of a kilogram of red onion in 12 trading centers during the first phase of January 2022 ranged from PhP 5.00 to PhP 185.00. (Table 5) 6. Prices of a kilogram of mango carabao rose by PhP 5.00 to PhP 30.00 in eight trading centers during the first phase of January 2022, from their price levels in the second phase of December 2021. Its average retail price per kilogram, however, went down by PhP 5.00 in Digos City and by PhP 20.00 in Baguio City during the period. (Table 6) 7. The average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar decreased by PhP 0.09 to PhP 9.45 in four trading centers during the first phase of January 2022. Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram during the period went up by PhP 0.25 in San Fernando City (Region 1), by PhP 1.40 in Digos City, by PhP 3.50 in Cagayan de Oro City, and by PhP 4.00 in Cabanatuan City.
