Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities First Phase of February 2022

Compared with their price levels in the second phase of January 2022 (15 to 17 January 2022), the average retail prices of a kilogram of well milled rice increased by PhP 0.17 to PhP 1.75 in six trading centers during the first phase of February 2022 (01 to 05 February 2022). Meanwhile, its average retail price per kilogram during the first phase of the month went down by PhP 0.01 in the National Capital Region (NCR), by PhP 0.02 in Iloilo City, and by PhP 0.25 in both Baguio City and Pagadian City. (Table 1) Declines in the average retail prices of a kilogram of pork with bones, ranging from PhP 3.51 to PhP 30.00, were observed in six trading centers during the first phase of February 2022. However, its average retail price per kilogram went up by PhP 5.00 to PhP 15.50 in four trading centers during the period. (Table 2) Changes in the average retail prices of bangus were noted in 11 trading centers during the first phase of February 2022. (Table 3) At the retail trade, prices of vegetables decreased in many trading centers during the first phase of February 2022. (Table 4) Price cuts of a kilogram of red onion in 11 trading centers during the first phase of February 2022 ranged from PhP 10.00 to PhP 80.00. (Table 5) Mixed price movements in mango carabao were observed in eight trading centers during the first phase of February 2022. (Table 6) Increments in the average retail prices of a kilogram of brown sugar, ranging from PhP 0.26 to PhP 5.25, were registered in 12 trading centers during the first phase of February 2022.
