Price Situationer of Selected Agricultural Commodities Second Phase of February 2023

  1. Increments in the average retail prices of a kilogram of regular milled rice, ranging from PhP 0.17 to PhP 0.75, were observed in five trading centers during the second phase of February 2023 (15 to 17 February 2023) compared with their respective first phase price levels (01 to 05 February 2023). Meanwhile, its average retail prices per kilogram slowed down by PhP 0.50 in Tacloban City, by PhP 0.80 in Butuan City, and by PhP 1.06 in Kidapawan City during the period. (Table 1)

  2. The average retail prices of a kilogram of dressed chicken decreased by PhP 1.68 to PhP 15.00 in six trading centers during the second phase of February 2023. However, its average retail prices per kilogram inched up by PhP 0.50 in Kidapawan City, by PhP 1.50 in Calapan City, and by PhP 5.00 in Pagadian City during the period. (Table 2)

  3. Relative to their price levels in the first phase of February 2023, changes in the average retail prices of a kilogram of galunggong varied in 1 trading centers during the second phase of February 2023. (Table 3)

  4. Many trading centers registered deceleration in the average retail prices of vegetables during the second phase of February 2023. (Table 4)

  5. Decreases in the average retail prices of a kilogram of red onion, ranging from PhP 10.00 to PhP 245.00, were noted in 12 trading centers during the second phase of February 2023. On the other hand, its average retail price per kilogram went up by PhP 1.50 in Tacloban City during the period. (Table 5)

  6. The average retail prices of a kilogram of banana lakatan increased by PhP 0.53 to PhP 15.00 in six trading centers during the second phase of February 2023. Its average retail prices per kilogram, however, dropped by PhP 7.50 in Tuguegarao City, by PhP 12.50 in Cabanatuan City, and by PhP 25.00 in San Fernando City (Region 1) during the second phase of February 2023.   7. The average retail prices of a kilogram of refined sugar inched up by PhP 0.07 in Kidapawan City, by PhP 0.64 in the National Capital Region, by PhP 2.00 in Digos City, and by PhP 3.00 in Batangas City during the second phase of February 2023. (Table 7)
