CMRPI in NCR rose further in February 2022

The CMRPI in NCR continued its upward trend as its annual rate moved up at a faster pace of 3.3 percent in February 2022, from 3.0 percent in the previous month. Its annual growth in February 2021 was lower at 1.1 percent. (Tables A and 2)

Higher annual increments were noted in the indices of the following commodity groups during the month:

a. Painting materials and related compounds, 2.3 percent;
b. Plumbing materials, 4.5 percent; and
c. Tinsmithry materials, 5.2 percent.

On the other hand, annual increments were slower in the indices of masonry materials at 1.9 percent; and miscellaneous construction materials at 3.4 percent. The indices of carpentry materials and electrical materials retained its previous month’s annual rate of 1.1 percent and 2.8 percent, respectively. (Table 2)
