CMRPI in NCR increased further in June 2022
The annual growth rate of CMRPI increased to 6.8 percent in June 2022, the highest since January 2009. In the previous month, the annual increase stood at 6.2 percent and in the same month of the previous year, it was lower at 1.2 percent. (Tables A and 2)
The upward trend was mainly brought by the higher annual increase in the index for tinsmithry materials at 9.4 percent in June 2022, from 8.3 percent in the previous month. This was followed by the index for plumbing materials which posted an annual increment of 8.5 percent.
In addition, the indices for the following commodity groups posted higher annual growth relative to their previous month’s annual increases:
a. Carpentry materials, 2.5 percent;
b. Electrical materials, 4.5 percent;
c. Masonry materials, 4.3 percent;
d. Painting materials and related compounds, 4.6 percent; and
e. Miscellaneous construction materials, 10.6 percent. (Table 2)
