Annual hike of CMRPI in NCR continues to slow down in October 2019

The annual rate of increase of CMRPI in the National Capital Region (NCR) continued to move at a slower pace of 0.7 percent in October 2019. Higher annual rates were observed in September 2019 at 0.9 percent and in October 2018, 2.7 percent. (Table A and Table 2)

The annual change of plumbing materials index decreased by 0.1 percent during the month. Moreover, slower annual mark-ups were recorded in the indices of the following commodity groups:

  • Carpentry materials, 1.5 percent;

  • Masonry materials, 1.1 percent;

  • Painting materials and related compounds, 0.8 percent; and

  • Tinsmithry materials, 0.6 percent.

On the other hand, a higher annual gain of 0.6 percent was noted in electrical materials index during the month while the annual movement of miscellaneous construction materials index remained at 0.6 percent. (Table 2)
