GRPI in NCR slows down further in May 2020

The GRPI in NCR continued to move at a slower annual pace of 0.6 percent in May 2020. In the previous month, its annual rate was recorded at 0.7 percent and in May 2019 at 1.6 percent. (Table A and Table 2)

The index of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials still registered an annual decline at 18.5 percent in May 2020. Moreover, annual increases slowed down in the indices of food at 1.9 percent, and miscellaneous manufactured articles at 0.9 percent.

Meanwhile, a higher annual increment of 1.2 percent was posted in the index of chemicals including animal and vegetable oils and fats. The same previous month’s annual growth rates were observed in the indices of the rest of the commodity groups. (Table 2)
