GRPI in NCR picked up in October 2021

The annual growth of GRPI in NCR went up by 2.1 percent in October 2021. This was higher than its annual rate in September 2021 at 2.0 percent and in October 2020 at 1.2 percent. (Tables A and 2)

The annual growth rate of the index of mineral fuels, lubricants and related accelerated further by 22.1 percent in October 2021, from 15.6 percent in the previous month.

Meanwhile, annual increases decelerated in the indices of the following commodity groups:

• Food, 1.9 percent;
• Beverages and tobacco, 6.0 percent;
• Crude materials, inedible except fuels, 1.0 percent; and
• Miscellaneous manufactured articles, 0.2 percent.

The indices of other commodity groups such as chemicals, including animal and vegetable oils and fats; manufactured goods classified chiefly by materials; and machinery and transport equipment retained their previous month’s annual growth rates. (Table 2)
