Annual rate of GRPI in NCR remained at 2.0 percent

The GRPI in NCR during the month retained its August 2021 annual rate of 2.0 percent. In September 2020, its annual change was registered at 1.2 percent. (Tables A and 2)

Higher annual increment during the month was noted in the index of mineral fuels, lubricants, and related materials at 15.6 percent.

Meanwhile, annual increases slowed down in September 2021 in the indices of food at 2.0 percent; beverages and tobacco, 6.6 percent; and crude materials, inedible except fuels, 1.3 percent.

The indices of the following commodity groups moved at their previous month’s annual growth rates:

• Chemicals, including animal and vegetable oils and fats, 0.8 percent;
• Manufactured goods classified chiefly by materials, 1.1 percent;
• Machinery and transport equipment; and miscellaneous manufactured articles, both at 0.3 percent. (Table 2)
