On an annual basis, the Construction Materials Retail Price Index (CMRPI) in the National Capital Region (NCR) continued to move downward as it recorded a 0.8 percent drop in November. Last month, it was posted at -1.4 percent while in November 2014, it grew by 1.5 percent. The index for miscellaneous construction materials registered double-digit annual decline of 10.3 percent during the month. Moreover, the indices of electrical materials decreased by 0.9 percent; masonry materials, 0.7 percent; and tinsmithry materials, 0.6 percent. Higher annual increases were, however, observed in the indices of painting materials and related compounds at 0.6 percent and plumbing materials at 0.1 percent. Annual adjustment in carpentry materials index remained at 1.2 percent.

Month-on-Month
Compared to a month ago level, the CMRPI in NCR recorded a 0.2 percent growth in November. Last month, it went down by 0.2 percent. Higher monthly gains were seen in the indices of electrical materials and tinsmithry materials posting both at 0.3 percent and miscellaneous construction materials, 1.1 percent. On the contrary, the index of carpentry materials fell by 0.1 percent. A flat growth was noticed in the indices of masonry materials, painting materials and related compounds, and plumbing materials.
Prices of selected electrical wires, corrugated GI sheets and steel bars were higher during the month. Lower prices were however, noted in common wire nails.
