On an annual basis, the Construction Materials Retail Price Index (CMRPI) in the National Capital Region (NCR) further declined by 1.4 percent in October. Last month, it moved by -0.4 percent while in October 2014, it grew by 2.0 percent. Negative annual rates were registered in the following indices: electrical materials, -1.3 percent; masonry materials, -3.7 percent; tinsmithry materials, -0.7 percent; and miscellaneous construction materials, -12.7 percent. The annual growth in the carpentry materials index remained at 1.2 percent while a zero growth was noticed in the index of plumbing materials.

Month-on-Month
Measured from a month ago level, the CMRPI in NCR fell by 0.2 percent in October. It was the same rate recorded in September. The indices of tinsmithry and miscellaneous construction materials correspondingly dropped by 0.4 percent and 3.1 percent. On the contrary, the indices of carpentry materials, masonry materials and plumbing materials inched up 0.1 percent while no movement was seen in the indices of electrical materials and painting materials and related compounds.
Prices of corrugated GI sheets and steel bars went down during the month. On the other hand, price add-ons were observed in plywood and GI pipes.
