The annual gain of the Construction Materials Retail Price Index (CMRPI) in the National Capital Region (NCR) eased to 1.5 percent in November. It was 2.0 percent last month and 1.5 percent in November 2013. Annual declines were still noted in the indices of plumbing materials and miscellaneous construction materials. Moreover, slowdowns were seen in the indices of the following commodity groups: electrical materials, 0.4 percent; masonry materials, 5.9 percent; painting materials and related compounds, 2.3 percent and tinsmithry materials, 2.5 percent. Meanwhile, the index of carpentry materials advanced 2.3 percent during the month.

On a monthly basis, the CMRPI in NCR dropped by 0.5 percent in November. Except for tinsmithry materials index which increased by 0.2 percent, the rest of the commodity groups had negative growth rates.
Price reductions were generally noticed in plywood, common wire nails, selected wiring devices, cement, gravel, sand, sand paper, faucet and steel bars. On the other hand, a higher price was noted in GI corrugated sheet.
