  On a monthly basis, the retail price index of selected construction materials in NCR went up to 0.5 percent in September from 0.1 percent in August. A higher monthly price increment was recorded in carpentry materials at 0.6 percent in September from 0.1 percent in August; electrical materials and miscellaneous construction materials, 0.3 percent from 0.1 percent and -0.3 percent, respectively; plumbing materials, 0.5 percent from zero growth; and tinsmithry materials, 2.5 percent from zero growth. On the other hand, a monthly price decline of -0.1 percent from 0.1 percent was noticed in masonry materials while painting materials and related compounds registered a slowdown at 0.2 percent from 0.5 percent.

  Upward price adjustments were noted in lumber, plywood, nails, selected wiring devices, sanitary fixtures, corrugated GI sheet, elbow, union patente, aluminum sheet and steel bars.
  

• Year-on-Year

  The annual growth in the retail prices of selected construction materials in NCR was registered at 2.6 percent in September, the same rate posted in August. Price increments were higher in painting materials, and related compounds at 2.5 percent in September from 2.2 percent in August, plumbing materials, 0.7 percent from 0.3 percent; and tinsmithry materials, 6.4 percent from 3.9 percent. On the other hand, increases in the prices of electrical materials slowed down to 3.3 percent in September from 3.5 percent in August, masonry materials, 1.7 percent from 1.9 percent; and miscellaneous construction materials, 3.6 percent from 6.1 percent. Add-ons in the prices of carpentry materials still remained at 0.7 percent.
