The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Quezon City spearheaded the data collection training held on 17 to 20 and 24 to 27 January 2023.

Through this activity, selected LGU personnel were trained on the CBMS common concepts and definitions, as well as the proper administration of CBMS Form 2 or the Household Profile Questionnaire. Moreover, participants were trained on the approaches and strategies which may be implemented during data collection - aligned with the standard protocols and procedures setby  the PSA. Aside from theoretical knowledge, a mock interview and field practice was performed by the LGU personnel to immerse them in the CBMS data collection process.

Learnings from this capacity building activity will be passed on to the data collectors in the succeeding level of training.

The conduct of CBMS is essential to the LGUs in providing effective and efficient services to their respective localities. CBMS serves as a tool for LGUs to collect data, monitor programs, and evaluate their performance. This can lead to better planning and decision making, and ultimately, improved outcomes for the community. CBMS also helps to increase transparency and accountability in governance. This can foster a more collaborative relationship between the LGU and the community, and lead to more sustainable development outcomes.
